AL FURAHWI - THE DARFUR GENOCIDE V
"'AUSCHWITZ!' roar triumphant Janjaweed, evil horsemen of the apocalypse thundering across burning Darfur," Al Nuwr wal Yasmeen (shimmering light and scent of jasmine) tells Czeslawa Kwoka (pron: CHES-WA-VA KVO-KA). "In Jebel Marra, as Sudan air force planes rain fiery death from the skies triumphant Janjaweed shout 'stuka!stuka!' Thus Darfur came to know Auschwitz," Nuwr Yasmeen adds. But Czeslawa consoles her: " Nuwr Yasmeen must take Darfur's candle of memory to all the children of genocide. Waken each tender soul to light their candle by yours. Nuwr is memory, the potent voice of the dead speaking to the living. Nuwr is the candle of the soul fragile against Auschwitz, against genocide."
